Anyone who has not registered can*** [click here do so easily online through the secretary of state’s office ] *** if they have a valid Georgia driver’s license or state-issued identification card.
Early in-person voting begins May 2, 2022.
========================
On May 24, 2022, the Georgia Republican Party will hold its primary to determine which Republican candidate will run in the state’s general election on November 8, 2022.
A primary election is an election in which registered voters select a candidate they believe should be their political party’s candidate for elected office to run in the general election (finally elected to office.) The general election will be held on November 8, 2022
Georgia utilizes an open primary system. A registered voter can vote in a particular party’s primary without being a registered member of that party.
Seven Republicans are running in the primary to challenge democrat Raphael Warnock for the Georgia US senate seat.
Leading the pack is Herschel Walker, one of the greatest college and National Football League players of all time and a businessman.
President Donald Trump has given Herschel Walker his “Complete and Total Endorsement” and praised him as “a friend, a Patriot and an outstanding American who is going to be a GREAT United States Senator.”
The Republican establishment nationally and in Georgia is behind him including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnel. He has high favorability ratings and support from self-identified moderate Republicans.
Polls show he has a sizable lead over the other Republican candidates in securing his party’s nomination.
The other candidates include:
Gary Black, the Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture.
Josh Clark was a member of the Georgia House of Representatives,
Kelvin King, an African American, who served 5 years in the Air Force and owns a construction firm.
Jonathan McCollum, an African American, who served in the U.S. Army for 35 years, and
Latham Saddler, a former Navy SEAL officer and served as Director of Intelligence Programs on the National Security Council in the Trump administration.
Special call to Ethiopian American and other first- and second-generation immigrant voters in Georgia
In the U.S., immigrants now represent nearly 10% of all eligible voters.
In California, immigrants representing 21% of eligible voters!
In Georgia, 6.2% of all voters are immigrants.
The immigrant vote in Georgia is increasingly becoming decisive in the outcome of elections.
In 2016, President Trump won or lost 13 battleground states by five percentage points.
In the November 2022 midterm elections, immigrant voters in Georgia could decide the outcome of the election for the seat currently held by democrat Warnock.
Voter registration in Georgia shows fascinating trends.
In 2020, democrat Raphael Warnock won the senate seat by 51% (2,288,923) against republican Kelly Loeffler 49% (2,195,373).
The number of Black registered voters in Georgia increased by about 130,000 between Oct. 11, 2016, and Oct. 5, 2020, the largest increase among all major racial and ethnic groups.
The number of Latino and White registered voters increased by roughly the same amount, each by 95,000, despite there being far fewer Latino than White existing registered voters (260,000 vs. 3.8 million). The number of Asian registered voters increased by 63,000, a substantial amount relative to the group’s Oct. 5, 2020, total (188,000).”
A January 2022 Atlanta Constitution report asserted, “Since 2010, the Black immigrant community in Atlanta grew by 165%.”
That report concluded:
Out of all U.S. metro areas, Atlanta holds the fourth largest Black immigrant population, with roughly 190,000 Black immigrants in 2019. That puts metro Atlanta ahead of Boston (180,000 Black immigrants) and behind Washington, D.C. (260,000).
The largest number of African immigrants to the U.S. have historically come from Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egypt, Ghana and Kenya.
Accurate census data is hard to come by but various estimates suggest there are between 25 and 40 thousand persons of Ethiopian ancestry in the state of Georgia.
They have more than a dozen churches and other civic organizations.
The question is how Black, Latino, Asian, Ethiopian and other immigrant voters will vote in the 2022 midterm election.
In 2020, democrat Warnock benefitted from a high turnout of Black voters amidst the chaos of Covid 19 and the controversy surrounding Trump.
In 2022, it highly likely a Black democrat and a Black republican will face off in the general election.
I believe the vast majority of democratic African American voters will likely yawn and let the election pass by.
It must never be forgotten that African Americans made Biden president.
Biden’s big win in South Carolina was revived and powered by strong black support.
“Biden solidified his place as the front-runner through a series of wins in Southern states on Super Tuesday, with (mostly older) African Americans in those states backing him in larger numbers.”
Biden forgot (dementia ?) about his black supporters as he always has.
Joe Biden has been running a scam on Black people for decades.
It should never be forgotten that Biden is the proud author of the $30 billion Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 [“Crime Act”], the largest crime law in American history!
The Crime Act expanded application of the federal death penalty, imposed harsher sentencing laws, mandatory life sentence for conviction of three felonies (i.e., those with prior prison sentences of 1 year or more, including drug use), granted billions to states to build prison industrial complexes provide they also implemented harsh sentencing laws including state three-strikes laws with mandatory minimums, among many other oppressive provisions.
The Crime Act was the principal reason for the mass incarceration of African Americans.
In Joe’s own words:
Vote for Herschel Walker!
It is of the utmost importance for first and second generation immigrants and others to register and vote for Herschel Walker on May 24, 2022.
I have set my reasons why Georgia voters should send Herschel Walker to the US Senate in my April 17, 2022 commentary.
Suffice it to say, Georgia (and the rest of America) needs a senator who puts “America First” and opposes the New World Order of the Obama/Biden democratic party.
