In a sensationally headlined piece, Ghosh announced “The World’s Deadliest War Isn’t in Ukraine, But in Ethiopia.” Ghosh claimed Ethiopia is facing a “calamity of mass starvation and ethnocide” and proposed eviscerating US sanctions as the solution.

On March 23, 2022, The Guardian sensationally announced, “Millions in Tigray face hunger as they wait in vain for aid.”
Citing Tedros Adhanom, putative head of the World Health Organization and a lifetime member of the TPLF terrorist group, the Guardian claimed, there is ‘nowhere on earth’ where the health of millions of people was more under threat than in Tigray.”
On March 23, 2022, Foreign Policy published an op ed by the spokesman of the terrorist TPLF who argued, “International solidarity with Kyiv in the face of Russian aggression is admirable. Tigrayans brutalized by Ethiopia and Eritrea deserve the same.”
On March 24, 2022, Human Rights Watch, an organization in the pocket of the terrorist TPLF, accused the Ethiopian Government of committing war crimes for an alleged drone attack on a “school” and killing “children”.

Anyone who has any familiarity with the professionalism and integrity of the Ethiopian Airforce leadership knows they will not order a drone attack on schools and refugees.
No one with a conscience would condone an attack on schools or refugees.
Was an alleged drone attack made on a school or a school for terrorists? Were terrorists in training allegedly attacked or innocent civilians?

The whole Western press-titute effort behind the Ethiopia demonization campaign is to influence passage of draconian sanctions bills: House Resolution 6600 and Senate Bill 3199 by creating a sense of urgency, doom and gloom, hellfire, and damnation in Tigray.
The Western press-titutes believe they can stoke the anger and outrage of ordinary Americans against the Ethiopian government by making sensationalized claims of war crimes, genocide, and all manner of human rights abuses.
But ordinary Americans got their own problems. They could not care less about what happens in Africa!
HR 6600 (“Ethiopia Stabilization, Peace, and Democracy Act”) is the product of lobbying by supporters of the terrorist TPLF, Western-press-titutes and so-called human rights organizations that have built empires on the misery of Africans.
The aim of HR 6600 (or is it HR 666) is regime change by crippling the Ethiopian economy with draconian sanctions and making the lives of the Ethiopian people so miserable they will rise and overthrow the democratically elected Ethiopian government.
A duplicate Senate bill 3199 (“To promote peace and democracy in Ethiopia”) was introduced to fast-track action on sanctions.
In a nutshell, the Congressional supporters of the terrorist TPLF believe they can restore the TPLF to power by waging economic warfare and sabotage against Ethiopia.
On March 23, 2022, the day the Western press-titutes opened their infowars on Ethiopia, a hearing on SB 3199 scheduled in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee chaired by the notorious indicted criminal-cum-senator (22 counts of bribery, fraud and such) Robert Menendez was canceled for unspecified reasons.
But on the same day, Joe Biden’s Horn of Africa envoy David Satterfield (who replaced Jeffrey “TPLF Hitman” Feltman) was in Ethiopia talking about “improving the humanitarian situation”.
Satterfield had explained in his first interview as replacement special envoy that the U.S. is “are focused squarely on effecting the initiation and sustainment of vital humanitarian assistance to Tigray, as well as maintaining and enhancing our assistance to all other communities in need. There can be no higher priority. What we do, what we say – all is focused upon achieving and maintaining that goal.” (Italics added.)
Most likely, the hearing was postponed in the Senate because committee approval of SB 3199 would have embarrassed Satterfield and scuttled any prospects of improvements in Ethiopia-U.S. relations.
So, all the noise the Western press-titutes were making on the eve of the hearing on SB 3199 had to do with giving moral legitimacy, moral imperative, and impetus to speed up passage of these sanctions bills.

The best laid plans of the TPLF mice and their lobbyist and supporters came to naught when the Senate hearing was cancelled/postponed.
It appears there is solid opposition to SB 3199 by some good friends of Ethiopia.
