September 11, 2021 (Gregorian Calendar) is Ethiopian New Year’s Day, Meskerem 1, 2014. [1]
On September 11, 2018 (Gregorian Calendar), I celebrated Ethiopian New Year in Ethiopia after a 48-year absence. What a happy and blessed new year it was for me and my family.
On September 11, 2018, I also had the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to Eritrea and witness live and in person the official opening of the borders between Ethiopia and Eritrea at Zalanbessa and Bure after a 20-year long militarization of the border area.
I was present and in person when the guns were silenced and the two countries pledged to live in peace as brothers and sisters.
It was one of the happiest days in my life to see Ethiopians and Eritreans coming together to bury the hatchet.
It was a fulfillment of prophesy. “Nations shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.”
Peace in the region was replaced by war in November 2020 when the terrorist TPLF junta attacked both Ethiopia and Eritrea. But the people of Ethiopia and Eritrea came together as one and decimated the TPLF terrorists.
Today, I extend my very best wishes to my Ethiopian brothers and sisters in Ethiopia and in the diaspora on Ethiopian New Year’s (Enqutatash “gift of jewels”) Day.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, HAPPY NEW GOVERNMENT, HAPPY NEW ETHIOPIA (2014 E.C.)! ETHIOPIANS UNITED CAN NEVER BE DEFEATED!
Today, I extend my very best wishes to my Eritrean brothers and sisters in Eritrea and in the diaspora RUHUS HADUSH AMET. ETHIOPIANS AND ERITREANS UNITED CAN NEVER BE DEFEATED!
My message for the Ethiopian New Year
To All Ethiopians: Ethiopians united in their ETHIOPIAWINET can never be defeated!
Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. taught, “We must either learn to live together as brothers or we are all going to perish together as fools.”
Today, the terrorist TPLF junta wants us to perish with them as fools.
Today, the coddlers of the terrorist junta — the U.S., the European Union, Egypt, Sudan and their lackeys in the international so-called human rights organizations and multilateral organizations and Western press-titute media – keep trying to plunge Ethiopia into civil war and make her Africa’s Syria, Libya or Yemen.
Our enemies think they can destroy us believing we are weak, divided and downright stupid. They thought they could play us like they have the others.
But we showed our enemies the power of unity, the power of will, the power of patriotism. In other words, the POWER OF ETHIOPIAWINET.
We taught our enemies, domestic and foreign, that strength does not come from physical capacity nor from guns and gunships, warships, airships and tanks.
Strength comes from an indomitable will. That indomitable will for Ethiopians is called ETHIOPIAWINET.
I defined Ethiopiawinet by inventing new English words for it: YOUNITY and HUMNITY.
In April 2012, I prophesied Ethiopia’s resurrection from the graveyard of ethnic apartheid will occur when we achieve “YOUNTIY” and “HUMINITY”.
“YOUNTIY” is when you and I – all proud and patriotic Ethiopians — together stand for the equality and dignity of the Ethiopian community.
“HUMINITY” is unity based not on ethnicity or nationality but on a blend of core universal values of human dignity and the African ethic of “ubunity”. We are human beings before we are any nationality or ethnicity.
Ethiopians today have developed wide and deep consensus on their Ethiopiawinet. They have achieved unity of thought, unity of purpose and unity of consciousness.
ETHIOPIAWINET, ALWAYS!
To all Ethiopians: It is not the size of the dog in the fight that determines the winner but the size of the fight in the dog!
Our foreign enemies believe they can use their wealth, military, economic, political and diplomatic power to twist our arms and break our knees and get us to beg them for mercy.
Our foreign enemies do not know us. They underestimate us because their minds are diseased by white supremacy.
They believe because they are big dogs with big guns, tanks and planes, they can crush us.
They do not learn from history. Ethiopia remained free of white colonial rule because, to paraphrase an American patriot, we believe in the maxim, “Give me dignity or give me death.”
Our forefathers and foremothers died defending Ethiopia’s dignity against white colonial powers.
Ethiopian dignity is non-negotiable with neocolonialist.
Our enemies can talk about “inclusive dialogue”, negotiated ceasefire” or whatever so they can restore their lackeys to power.
In the end, our enemies will lose because it is not the size of the dog in the fight that determines the winner but the size of the fight in the dog!
We Ethiopians may be small dogs, but we are all fight, all fight!
To Ethiopia’s Youth (Cheetah Generation): It is your divinely ordained mission to protect, defend and preserve Ethiopia against all enemies domestic and foreign!
For over a decade I have been preaching Ethiopia’s youth are the only earthly salvation for Ethiopia.
I have written about Ethiopia’s Cheetah generation at great length over the years. In August 2012, I wrote, “Only a coalition of cheetahs organized across ethnic, religious, linguistic and regional lines can crush a crash of hippos and a cackle of hyenas and save Ethiopia.”
I have seen videos of hundreds of thousands of Ethiopian Cheetahs volunteering to defend Ethiopia against TPLF terrorism and their Western coddlers.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! For your service to Ethiopia.
Know that it is your divinely ordained mission to protect, defend and preserve Ethiopia against all enemies domestic and foreign!
You should be proud you had a chance to live up to the glory of your forefathers and foremothers at the Battle of Adwa and victories during the Italian colonial occupation in 1936-41.
Your forefathers and foremothers fought and defeated colonialism, Now, it is your gift, duty and obligation to fight and defeat neocolonialism.
To members of the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF), regional security and special forces
Thank you ENDF and all regional security, special forces and militia.
I bow as I salute you for all the sacrifices you have made defending Ethiopian dignity, security and unity.
It is said that once upon a time a young patriot who deeply loved his country was facing the gallows and asked if he had any last words. His last words were, “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.”
It is said once upon a time, a nation facing enormous odds against an enemy had to thank its fighting men and women. “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.”
Ethiopia has faced foreign enemies and defeated them. But Ethiopia never faced a domestic terrorist enemy such as the TPLLF that has caused so much death and destruction.
So, I say to ENDF, regional, security forces and militia, “Never have so many millions of Ethiopians have owed so much to so few of its defenders.”
Special thanks and appreciation to the commanding officers and leadership of the ENDF, regional security, police forces and militia.
But your work is not complete. Unfortunately, you must clean out the TPLF terrorist trash and dump it in the garbage bin of history.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SACRIFICES AND ALL YOU HAVE DONE!
To all my Ethiopian brothers and sisters: YOU have elected your OWN government in a free and fair election. YOUR new government needs you. Support it!
The people of Ethiopia spoke on June 23, 2021, and elected their government by a super landslide.
It is said the voice of the people is the voice of God (Vox populi, vox dei).
The people have elected their own government and it’s the moral duty of those who elected their government to support it fully.
Those who did not vote for the new government have the special honor of being the loyal opposition. They can challenge the government with better ideas, proposals and policies.
After all said is done, in a genuine democracy, the majority rules.
The new government and its leadership deserves our full support, including the support of Ethiopians in the diaspora.
To Diaspora Ethiopians: Three messages
1) Lead, follow or get out of the way
The people of Ethiopia have spoken and elected their government. Let us respect the will of the Ethiopian people.
They cannot be doubted or second guessed.
Let no diaspora Ethiopian forget: Ethiopians in Ethiopia have skin in the game. We diasporans, especially in the West, should never succumb to paternalism and say we know what’s best for Ethiopians more than the Ethiopians themselves.
We Ethiopian diasporans have the choice of leading together with the new government, simply following what the new government is doing or getting out of the way and watching from the sidelines.
It is an individual choice.
Let us not waste time playing games on social media. No one ever built a country playing games on social media.
2) Diaspora Ethiopians must help fight TPLF’s economic sabotage by making remittances through established Ethiopian banks. The TPLF and its supporters are conducting a campaign of economic sabotage by creating an illegal currency black market and distorting the foreign exchange rate and fueling inflation. Don’t be penny wise and pound foolish. Ethiopia’s economy depends on foreign remittances.
3) Ethiopian Americans must work together to defeat democrats in the 2022 midterm election. I have made my case for defeating the Democratic Party in my May 31, 2021 commentary. We must teach the Democrats a lesson they will never forget!
To the People and Government of Eritrea
I wish the people of and Government of Eritrea a happy new year. RUHUS HADUSH AMET.
I was in Eritrea on September 11, 2018, exactly three years to the day.
I did not meet a single person in Eritrea who wanted war with Ethiopia.
Everyone I talked to wanted peace and resumption of the historic brotherhood and sisterhood of the peoples of the two countries.
The TPLF is the greatest enemy to the brotherhood and sisterhood of the Ethiopian and Eritrean peoples.
The people of Ethiopia and Eritrea must understand one important fact: UNITED WE STAND AGAINST OUR NEOCOLONIAL ENEMIES AND THEIR TERRORIST LACKEYS, DEVIDED WE FALL.
PUT DIFFERENTLY, “ETHIOPIANS AND ERITREANS UNITED CAN NEVER, NEVER BE DEFEATED!
It is always darkest before the dawn!
Ethiopia’s future is bright.
In May 2013, I wrote:
Ethiopia shall rise!” Like the morning sun and the full moon at midnight, Ethiopia shall rise. She shall rise up and shake off the sooty dust of dictatorship that covers her. Ethiopia shall rise again and brightly shine like a precious gem. She shall rise above sectarianism and communalism. She shall rise from the depths of doubt to heights of faith. Ethiopia shall rise, and stretch out her arms and embrace all her children and in turn be embraced by Providence.
Behold the coming to pass of prophesy in Ethiopia!
Things always seem to get worse before they get better .
The Good Book says, “Weeping may last for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”
What time is it now in Ethiopia?
It is morning time!
The weeping and crying of the night of 2013 is behind us.
Joy, love, unity, brotherhood and sisterhood awaits us in 2014.
Onward and forward Ethiopians and Eritreans!
Let’s hold hands and greet the 2014 New Year.
My wish for all Eritreans: RUHUS HADUSH AMET. ETHIOPIANS AND ERITREANS UNITED CAN NEVER BE DEFEATED!
My wish for all Ethiopians: HAPPY NEW YEAR, HAPPY NEW GOVERNMENT, HAPPY NEW ETHIOPIA (2014 E.C.)!
ETHIOPIANS UNITED CAN NEVER BE DEFEATED!
