That is Morse code signal for S.O.S. (SAVE OUR SOULS) (አድኑኝ! ድረሱልኝ! )
It is used by those in deep doo doo to request immediate assistance as in the case of a sinking ship.
On December 20, 2021, the leader of the terrorist group known as the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) issued an S.O.S. to the UN Security Council to rescue passengers from the terrorist “ship of state” SS T-TPLF sinking fast overwhelmed by a tsunami of ENDF, Amhara & Afar Special Forces & Militia and Fano Fighters.
The S.O.S. came in the form of a letter written by Debretsion Gebremichael, the befuddled leader of the terrorist TPLF.
Debretsion literally begged the UN Security Council to save it from total annihilation by Ethiopian federal, regional, militia and Fano forces!
Arrogance and ignorance brought the TPLF to this end.
For the record and with all due humility, I had prophesied the TPLF’s self-destruction by self-delusion for many years.
[But don’t misunderstand my use of the word “prophesy.” I use the word in the tradition of Dr. Martin Luther King, W.E.B. Du Bois and Henry McNeal Turner. In the African American tradition, the prophetic voice has been used to confront slavery, racism, inequality, oppression and the coming of redemption through long and unyielding struggle. I use my prophetic voice to confront thugtatorship neocolonialism, humanitarian imperialism, white supremacy, ethnic apartheid and crimes against humanity in Ethiopia.]
In my February 3, 2013, commentary, “They shall inherit the Wind”, written after the passing of TPLF thugmaster Meles Zenawi, I prophesied:
Meles was a man with a mission who confused mission with vision. He has completed his mission. Scripture teaches that “He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.” Meles and his worshippers have profoundly troubled the Ethiopian house and they shall inherit the wind!
In my August 30, 2015, commentary, “Is the T-TPLF Ship of Hate Sinking… S.O.S.?”, I spoke prophetically about the sinking of the terrorist TPLF ship of state and the rats abandoning ship.

In my October 8, 2017, commentary, “The Day After the Firestorm” I made a prophesy that we are witnessing today with our own eyes:
The forest fire of ethnic hatred the T-TPLF ignited and fanned over the last 26 years is consuming them. As I have always prophesied many times before, regardless of the billions the T-TPLF bosses and lackeys have stolen from the Ethiopian people, in the end they shall only inherit the wind of a firestorm!
The TPLF’s stunningly accurate self-fulfilling prophesy of its own destruction!
Just a few weeks ago, TPLF leaders were issuing ultimatums and proclaiming the “war is over”, “there will be no negotiations”, “Ethiopian troops have been annihilated” and they “will capture the capital in a couple of weeks”.
The U.S., E.U. and various European countries were popping the champagne bottles to celebrate the TPLF’s imminent victory while urging their citizens to leave Ethiopia to make it look good.
But all the talk of annihilation proved to be a self-fulfilling prophesy.
The TPLF was annihilated!
It boggles the mind how the arrogant and ignorant words of TPLF leaders against the Ethiopian government have boomeranged against them.

From here on, there is no such thing as negotiation. This is the question I raise. The war is coming to an end. With whom are we going to negotiate?
Debretsion Gebremichael, leader of TPLF terrorists’ group boastfully issued his ultimatum:
The war has ended. After this there is no town you can save. Instead of dying in vain [Ethiopian forces], save yourselves. Just like the others. Surrender to our forces. Or take your choice.
Terrorist leader Debretsion:
Do they want to negotiate? If they do let them speak openly. If they don’t want to negotiate, that means they want war. We will continue the war. In the war, they will be annihilated. Therefore, do they want war? Otherwise, they will be annihilated. We will choke them. If war continues, they cannot defend against it. All their battle cries and boasting. We know them at the battlefront. We are seeing who is boasting. They (are scared) don’t want to die. We can see it. It (army) has fallen. It cannot return. They have allowed the regular army to be destroyed and are now using special forces and militia. They give them training for a week or two. How are they going to win? It is the people of Tigray (they are fighting). It’s not possible to defeat the people. All of them are in the people’s army. Now it has reached a point of no return. They have only two choices. One is to accept a ceasefire for negotiations by accepting our preconditions and announcing it to the public. Taking those seven, eight or nine of our points as starting points and negotiate and proclaim to the people peace talks are starting.
After doing this, they will get a certain amount of respite, time of reflection. But if they do not accept, we will annihilate them. That is inevitable. Annihilation. They must accept annihilation. And if they know this, they may ask for additional time for negotiations. Of course, we can’t be sure about this. But the choices are two. They can choose and have a ceasefire. However, they may say we have the power and try to fight it out. But you cannot change the military situation by boasting.

TPLF’s S.O.S. letter to the UN Security Council after throwing the U.S. under the bus
For the past year, the TPLF leaders had been working not-so-secretly with the Biden administration, the E.U. and certain European countries to militarily overthrow the government of PM Abiy Ahmed and restore the TPLF to power.
The TPLF-Biden administration’s conspiracy to take over an African government is not the first one.
The TPLF and the Bush administration did it spectacularly when they conspired to take over Somalia in 2006.
I documented it all in my December 6, 2010 commentary the “Fantastic Somalia Job”.
By November 2008, it was cut and run out of Somalia for the TPLF. The TPLF was defeated in Somalia!
In November 2020, the TPLF tried to repeat 2006 Somalia job in 2021 Ethiopia!
The TPLF and the Biden administration delusionally convinced each other that overthrowing a democratically elected government in Ethiopia would be a cakewalk just as getting rid of the Islamic Courts and Al -Shabab in Somalia.
The Biden administration bought the TPLF lies hook, line and sinker only to find out that the TPLF that boasted about annihilating Ethiopian forces was itself annihilated.
Just like the TPLF was annihilated in Somalia and left Somali in humiliation!
All the TPLF braggadocio and wind bagging about annihilating Ethiopian forces was nothing more than self-delusion and wishful thinking.
When the truth about the TPLF-US Conspiracy to overthrow the democratically elected government of Ethiopia finally came out of the mouth of TPLF leaders, it was shocking.
Not to me though.
I knew from the day the TPLF launched the attack on the Northern Command that it was a coordinated job between Susan Rice & Co. and the TPLF.
American presidential election were held on November 3, 2020. So was the attack on the Northern Command.
The Susan Rice/CIA and TPLF game was that the world preoccupied with the American presidential elections, no one would notice a TPLF takeover. The TPLF would capture the capital of Addis Ababa before the votes were counted in the U.S.
After that, it would be s as usual. That was the plan of the Princess of Darkness Susan Rice, the mother hen of the TPLF!
Wrote Robert Burns, “The best laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men Gang aft agley…” The best laid plans of mice and (wo)men often go awry.
So it did with the Susan Rice-CIA-TPLF plan in Ethiopia.
Incredibly, the TPLF spectacularly threw the U.S. under the bus by publicly declaring the U.S. had conspired with them (indeed, pushed and goaded them) to
1) spread the war into Amhara and Afar regions with the aim of cutting off the capital from access to ports in Djibouti and wreaking economic havoc in the country and forcing the Ethiopian government to negotiate, and
2) militarily take over the capital Addis Ababa and create a puppet government for the U.S. by setting up a make-believe coalition government.
[Transcription] China’s intention is clear so I can understand it. Whereas the intention of the Americans is for us to enter Addis. Some European countries also have similar interest. But they told us to forge an alliance with different groups to avoid chaos when our forces entered Addis. America’s concern is ridiculous and transactional. It looks like the Americans couldn’t make up their mind about us capturing Addis Ababa. There are interest groups who want Abiy to continue putting the country up for sale and who do not want him to stop the country’s indispensable resources recklessly.
The same terrorist spokesman testifies the “U.S. made them do it” by promising help once the TPLF captures power and hoodwinks other opposition elements to join it.
After the TPLF massacred, raped and pillaged in Amhara and Afar regions and made cannon fodder of hundreds of thousands of its fighters (mostly child soldiers), the blowhard TPLF leader wrote an S.O.S. letter to Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General United Nations for delivery to the UN Security Council.
The terrorist leader launches his letter by calling for “peace on behalf of the people of Tigray and the National Regional Government.”
The call for peace is immediately followed by cataloguing alleged “unspeakable horrors” inflicted by the “Ethio-Eritrean war waged against Tigray.”
The terrorist leader mentions nothing of the unspeakable horrors committed by his TPLF including
massacres in Mai Cadra on November 9, 2020, killing at least 1,657 innocent people.
massacre in Galikoma in Afar region in August 2021, killing several hundred.
massacres and gang rapes in Nefas Mewcha in Amhara region in November 2021.
rejection of the Ethiopian Government’s declaration of unilateral ceasefire in June 2021.
invasion of Amhara and Afar regions taking advantage of the unilateral ceasefire.
massive destruction of infrastructure in Amhara and Afar regions.
demolition of churches, mosques, schools and hospitals.
looting of USAID grain storage warehouses and hijacking of aid transportation.
not mentioning the various human rights by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the UNHCR and Ethiopian Human Rights Commission reports documenting heinous TPLF acts of terrorism.
Ethiopian government’s unilateral declaration of ceasefire as a steppingstone to peace. The TPLF spokesperson called the unilateral ceasefire a “sick joke”.
In his letter, the terrorist leader moans and groans about “Tigrayans in Addis Ababa and all over the country taken to concentration camps and living under a reign of fear. Today, Tigrayans also face the daily terrors of indiscriminate drone strikes from the skies.”
The terrorist leader informs Guterres he has effectively declared a unilateral ceasefire and withdrawal. “I have ordered those units of the Tigray Army that are outside the borders of Tigray to withdraw to the borders of Tigray with immediate effect. Our forces are intact and undefeated on the ground.”
The terrorist leader sheds crocodile tears for the
1) suffering and people killed and for the “families who go to bed hungry, for the sick who cannot obtain medicine, and for the students whose hopes of an education and a bright future are dashed and
2) for the “internationalization of the conflict bringing regional and global players into the vortex.”
He declares, “We have pursued no agenda other than our own. We have no political debts to anyone.”
In his letter, the terrorist leader makes the following demands on the U.N. Security Council:
1) Free Tigray from genocidal assault by Ethiopian and Eritrean forces. To accomplish that, the “international community to establish a no-fly zone for hostile flights of aircraft and drones over Tigray except for humanitarian and civil purposes and impose arms embargoes on Ethiopia and Eritrea.”
2) End “illegal occupation and annexation of parts of Tigray” and return “lands in the hands of the occupier in Western Tigray and parts of northern Tigray close to Eritrea where there is ongoing ethnic cleansing in Western Tigray.”
3) Establish a mechanism to “facilitate and monitor withdrawal of Ethiopian and Eritrean forces to lines before Nov. 4 and guarantee restoration of Tigrayan administration and the rights of IDPs and refugees to return to their place of origin and access to and restitution of their homes, land, business, properties and other entitlement.”
3) Create an airbridge and/or humanitarian corridor to Tigray under a de-militarized route designated for safe passage of humanitarian supplies.
4) Release of all political prisoners, lift censorship and remove foreign intelligence and security operatives from Ethiopian soil.
5) Implement UN Rights Council resolution by authorizing the International Commission of Human Rights Experts to investigate human rights abuses in Tigray.
6) Declare the is no military solution to the conflict in Ethiopia.
How interesting to see the blowhards of TPLF eating humble pie and crying out for peace after they get hammered by combined Ethiopian federal and regional forces!
Knowing your enemy… Clear and hold
In the “Art of War”, Sun Tzu advised:
If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.
In trying to seize power by force on November 3, 2020, the TPLF chose a blitzkrieg (“Mebreqawi”) attack using their concentrated force to destroy the Ethiopian Northern Command stationed in Tigray region and moving rapidly to capture major cities in Northern Ethiopia and in two weeks seize the capital Addis Ababa.
After they failed in their blitzkrieg, the TPLF leaders foolishly believed they could destroy Ethiopian forces in Tigray and elsewhere by executing planned pivotal battles of annihilation. In fact, the word “annihilation” (medemses) dripped from their lips in every interview.
The TPLF did not know itself nor the Ethiopian National Defense Forces.
The TPLF was defeated in every battle by the combined Ethiopian national defense and special forces, militia and Fano fighters and cleared out of Amhara and Afar regions.
It will also be defeated in the future.
But the TPLF and its Western sugar daddies have mounted a disinformation campaign claiming the TPLF was not defeated but made a strategic retreat.
Calling defeat victory does not change defeat into victory.
Of course, they are entitled to thetr own self-deception and self-delusion.
Interestingly, neither the TPLF nor its Western supporters who urged their citizens to evacuate Addis Ababa immediately because of an expected TPLF onslaught could explain the TPLF’s route to Mekele within a couple of weeks after the TPLF marched for six months to capture the capital.
It is silly infowarfare to not acknowledge Ethiopia’s decisive victory over TPLF terrorism. But who really cares what the West and the TPLF say about the undeniable truth on the ground?
Having sanitized Amhara and Afar regions of TPLF terrorists, the Ethiopian government announced a temporary halt in the advancement of its forces into Tigray region.
To that end, Ethiopian forces will follow a “clear and hold” strategy by securing key locations that allow for maximum strategic offensive and tactical defense.
The Ethiopian government gave various reasons for this decision including the fact that the TPLF was making preparations for a Western-supported global disinformation and demonization campaign using the corpses of TPLF fighters as victims of Ethiopian government genocide.
For now and until the Ethiopian government decides to exercise its sovereign right to maintain law and order in any part of its territory, the situation on the ground could signal attrition warfare by wearing down the enemy’s will and continuously depleting his personnel, material and resources with which he can wage war.
The Ethiopian government knows its enemy and shall win a hundred battles against the TPLF.
The TPLF declared their war is a “Tigrean people’s war” and that every Tigrean is part of their terrorist army. They forced hundreds of thousands of child soldiers into their terrorist army and made them cannon fodder. A monumentally criminal act!
The TPLF will lose a hundred battles because it does not know itself and certainly not the will of the Ethiopian people to fight as one to the bitter end.
The TPLF leadership is in a complete state of denial that it is fighting the people of Ethiopia, not the government of Ethiopia.
The TPLF leaders think they can pull the same tricks from 1991 when the U.S. facilitated their cakewalk to power.
Regardless, the TPLF leadership of one-half dozen individuals is now facing 115 million Ethiopians ready to fight and win.
Sound military advice: “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.”
How will the TPLF end? In a firestorm or flood?
I have always mused about how the TPLF will face the final curtain.
In my March 7, 2011, commentary, I prophesied that in the end the TPLF will “follow the tragic wisdom of the old aphorism, “Apre moi, le deluge” (After me, the flood).
In my June 17, 2018 commentary, I spelled out what the TPLF will do just before the final nail is hammered on its coffin:
If they cannot rule Ethiopia with an iron fist and maintain their ethnic apartheid system forever, they will implement their Doomsday Plan of setting up the Republic of Tigray. Their guiding principle has been the same as the proverbial donkey who declared, “I do not care if the grass grows after I am gone.” In other words, apre moi le deluge. After me, the flood can come and wipe out everything.
In my November 10, 2020 commentary, seven days after the TPLF attacked the Ethiopian Northern Command in Tigray and unleashed the crises we have seen over the past year, I prophesied the dark end of the TPLF:
The TPLF’s guiding mantra follows the proverbial Ethiopian donkey which said, ‘I do not care if no grass grows after I’m gone.’ In other words, “Après moi, le déluge.” After me the flood. Yes, the flood of blood in Ethiopia.
Today, in its letter to the UNSC, the TPLF having shed the blood of so many innocents in Amhara ad Afar regions is complaining about the firestorm unleashed by the Ethiopian National Defense Force, Amhara and Afar special forces and militia and Fano fighters and drones raining fire from the skies.
The attempt to save the TPLF by soon-to-be members of the Biden administration began in earnest ten days after the attack on the Northern Command on November 14, 2020.
I called out Susan Rice at the time.
On November 14, 2020, Susan Rice in total panic tweeted an S.O.S. on behalf of the TPLF pleading with the Trump administration: “We need principled leadership on this @StateDept. @AsstSecStateAF Please and fast.”
“Fast” as in “the TPLF is getting hammered by the Ethiopian National Defense Force and therefore SOS (Save Our Souls)”.
Assistant Secretary for African Affairs Tibor Nagy had no sympathy for Rice’s TPLF and responded: “The TPLF seeks to internationalize the conflict. The TPLF leadership has admitted responsibility for the November 13 missile launches at airports in Bahir Dar and Gondar, in the Amhara region, and the November 14 attack in Eritrea.”
Four days after Susan Rice’s tweet, on November 18, 2020, Blinken tweeted his own S.O.S. for the TPLF: “Deeply concerned about the humanitarian crisis in Ethiopia, reports of targeted ethnic violence, and the risk to regional peace and security. The TPLF and Ethiopian authorities should take urgent steps to end the conflict, enable humanitarian access, and protect civilians.”
On November 22, 2020, seventeen days after the TPLF attack, I wrote a poem consoling TPLF mother hen and the Princess of Darkness Susan Rice:
Oh! Susanna, now don’t you cry for me
I come from Alabama with my banjo on my knee
I’m going to Louisiana, my true love for to see.
Oh! Susan-a Rice,
Don’t you cry for the TPLF
Their end is near, my dear
Hear, hear!
Drones overhead striking fear
It is so simple and clear

The TPLF did it its way—Self-destruction by self-deception and self-delusion
In my December 27, 2015, commentary, “The “End of the Story” for the T-TPLF in Ethiopia?”, I reflected on the final story to be written on the TPLF.
I was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. “Remember that all through history, there have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they seem invincible. But in the end, they always fall. Always.”
The TPLF fell. Hard. From being the “government” of Ethiopia to a bunch of terrorist fugitives hiding behind desert rocks in Tigray.
I read T.S. Eliot’s poem, “The Hollow Men”, as I thought about the end of the TPLF.
Eliot’s poem is about the inhabitants of a desolate underworld populated by empty and defeated people facing the horrors of war of their own making.
Just like the TPLF.
Eliot said the world of “hollow men” and “stuffed men” ends “not with a bang but a whimper”.
I thought Robert Frost’s verse, “Fire and Ice”, is a more apt description of the end of the TPLF.
In the words of Frost:
Some say the world will end in fire,/ Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire/ I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,/ I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice /Is also great
And would suffice.
So, the TPLF has met its end in flood and fire.
The maxim they followed is now following them: “Apre moi, le deluge” (After me, the flood).
The TPLF is finally swept by the firestorm firepower of ENDF, Amhara and Afar special forces and militia and Fano.
But I will give the devil his due.
In the end, the TPLF brought its own end in its own way, self-destruction by self-deception and self-delusion.
Paraphrasing and adapting Frank Sinatra’s famous song , “I did it my way” for the TPLF:

We’ll state our case, of which we are uncertain.

The BIG QUESTION: Ethiopia and the Day After… the Firestorm
In my October 8, 2017, commentary, “Ethiopia: The Day After… the Firestorm”, I asked the “BIG QUESTION”.
Here is what I wrote then:
Whether the T-TPLF will be consigned to the trash bin of history is not the question. That is like asking whether the sun will rise tomorrow morning.
The only question is what will happen the day after the T-TPLF is dumped on the ash heap and trash bin of history?
I know very few people want to talk openly and publicly about what will happen the day after the T-TPLF crooks are dumped on the trash heap of history by hook or crook. There seems to be an unwritten taboo, particularly among the opposition…
But the T-TPLF bosses have no problems talking about it. Their position is, “Apres nous, le deluge.” After us, the flood. Like the proverbial Ethiopian donkey said, “After I am gone, I could not care less, if grass grows.” That is the T-TPLF’s donkey logic.
The late ruthless T-TPLF thugmaster Meles Zenawi warned that after his TPLF goes, there will be the equivalent of an “Interahamwe-type Hutu militia which massacred Tutsis in Rwanda”. Zenawi repeated it time and again.
Zenawi’s sidekick and step-and-fetch it, Bereket Simon, went one step further when he predicted, “Strife between different nationalities of Ethiopia might have made the Rwandan genocide look like child’s play.”
T-TPLF godfather Nega predicted the people will rise and wipe out their oppressor when they become “bitter”. The older boozer was manifestly unaware that he was making a final pronouncement on his TPLF.
T-TPLF general Tsadkan Gebretensaye straight up predicted civil war when the T-TPLF is dumped in the trash bin of history. I have discussed the T-TPLF’s eschatology (what will happen on Judgment Day) in my commentary, “The Dilemma of U.S. Policy in Ethiopia.”
T-TPLF boss Abay Tsehai predicted Ethiopia will be Africa’s 21st century Rwanda. He said things in Ethiopia are getting out of control and Ethiopia is careening into becoming the next Rwanda.
Another T-TPLF boss, Seyoum Mesfin, also expects a civil war but believes T-TPLF will crush all opposition and remain dominant. In a bizzarre interview, Seyoum effectively equated Ethiopians to Nazis and Tigreans to Jews in the Third Reich.
Of course, I disagree with the T-TPLF prophets of doom and gloom. But I can certainly appreciate why the T-TPLF bosses would be worried sick. When Judgment Day comes, it comes like a thief in the night to judge the thief.
I am certain the T-TPLF bosses and their swarms of vermin sucking the blood of the Ethiopian people will be held accountable for the genocide and crimes against humanity they committed over the past 26 years.
But the urgent issue is what will happen the day after the T-TPLF is dumped in the trash bin of history?
No, I am not concerned about Rwanda-style interahamwe or an ethnic civil war as prophesied by the T-TPLF bosses. I know for sure that will not happen.
What concerns me deeply is the absence of any organized leadership to carry on after the T-TPLF is dumped in the trash bin of history. I am told there are leaders secretly lying-in wait and will emerge after the collapse of the T-TPLF. That sounds like the Easter Bunny is going to show up out of nowhere and make everything OK.
My position is very clear. Ethiopia will be plunged into chaos not so much because of the evil the T-TPLF has done, but because of the good the opposition could do but failed to do.
Albert Einstein said, “The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.”
Ethiopia will be a dangerous place to live after the T-TPLF is history not only because of the evil the T-TPLF did over the past 26 years, but also because the opposition has failed to come together and do the right thing in the twilight of the T-TPLF.

The TPLF fell victim to the law of unintended consequences (outcomes they never intended and would have prevented at all costs if they had considered it).
Neither the TPLF nor its U.S. and E.U. sugar daddies could have imagined their combined war on Ethiopia would bring the people of Ethiopia into full unity and solidarity.
The TPLF toiled day and night to divide and rule the Ethiopian people for 27 years and created an ethnic apartheid system to perpetuate its dominance for at least a century.
But the TPLF and its U.S. and E.U. supporters delivered Ethiopians the priceless gift of unity on a silver platter.
For that, we owe them a debt of eternal gratitude.
The unity the Ethiopian people have achieved today will enable them to fight and defeat white supremacy, neocolonialism, imperialism and poverty.
There is no doubt the people of Tigray will soon cast out the TPLF devils and rejoin their Ethiopian brothers and sisters on three roads named Peace, Prosperity and Unity.

It is used by those in deep doo doo to request immediate assistance as in the case of a sinking ship.
On December 20, 2021, the leader of the terrorist group known as the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) issued an S.O.S. to the UN Security Council to rescue passengers from the terrorist “ship of state” SS T-TPLF sinking fast overwhelmed by a tsunami of ENDF, Amhara & Afar Special Forces & Militia and Fano Fighters.
The S.O.S. came in the form of a letter written by Debretsion Gebremichael, the befuddled leader of the terrorist TPLF.
Debretsion literally begged the UN Security Council to save it from total annihilation by Ethiopian federal, regional, militia and Fano forces!
Arrogance and ignorance brought the TPLF to this end.
For the record and with all due humility, I had prophesied the TPLF’s self-destruction by self-delusion for many years.

Just a few weeks ago, TPLF leaders were issuing ultimatums and proclaiming the “war is over”, “there will be no negotiations”, “Ethiopian troops have been annihilated” and they “will capture the capital in a couple of weeks”.
The U.S., E.U. and various European countries were popping the champagne bottles to celebrate the TPLF’s imminent victory while urging their citizens to leave Ethiopia to make it look good.
But all the talk of annihilation proved to be a self-fulfilling prophesy.
The TPLF was annihilated!
It boggles the mind how the arrogant and ignorant words of TPLF leaders against the Ethiopian government have boomeranged against them.

TPLF’s S.O.S. letter to the UN Security Council after throwing the U.S. under the bus
For the past year, the TPLF leaders had been working not-so-secretly with the Biden administration, the E.U. and certain European countries to militarily overthrow the government of PM Abiy Ahmed and restore the TPLF to power.
The TPLF-Biden administration’s conspiracy to take over an African government is not the first one.
The TPLF and the Bush administration did it spectacularly when they conspired to take over Somalia in 2006.
I documented it all in my December 6, 2010 commentary the “Fantastic Somalia Job”.
By November 2008, it was cut and run out of Somalia for the TPLF. The TPLF was defeated in Somalia!
In November 2020, the TPLF tried to repeat 2006 Somalia job in 2021 Ethiopia!
The TPLF and the Biden administration delusionally convinced each other that overthrowing a democratically elected government in Ethiopia would be a cakewalk just as getting rid of the Islamic Courts and Al -Shabab in Somalia.
The Biden administration bought the TPLF lies hook, line and sinker only to find out that the TPLF that boasted about annihilating Ethiopian forces was itself annihilated.
Just like the TPLF was annihilated in Somalia and left Somali in humiliation!
All the TPLF braggadocio and wind bagging about annihilating Ethiopian forces was nothing more than self-delusion and wishful thinking.
When the truth about the TPLF-US Conspiracy to overthrow the democratically elected government of Ethiopia finally came out of the mouth of TPLF leaders, it was shocking.
Not to me though.
I knew from the day the TPLF launched the attack on the Northern Command that it was a coordinated job between Susan Rice & Co. and the TPLF.
American presidential election were held on November 3, 2020. So was the attack on the Northern Command.
The Susan Rice/CIA and TPLF game was that the world preoccupied with the American presidential elections, no one would notice a TPLF takeover. The TPLF would capture the capital of Addis Ababa before the votes were counted in the U.S.
After that, it would be s as usual. That was the plan of the Princess of Darkness Susan Rice, the mother hen of the TPLF!
Wrote Robert Burns, “The best laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men Gang aft agley…” The best laid plans of mice and (wo)men often go awry.
So it did with the Susan Rice-CIA-TPLF plan in Ethiopia.
Incredibly, the TPLF spectacularly threw the U.S. under the bus by publicly declaring the U.S. had conspired with them (indeed, pushed and goaded them) to
1) spread the war into Amhara and Afar regions with the aim of cutting off the capital from access to ports in Djibouti and wreaking economic havoc in the country and forcing the Ethiopian government to negotiate, and
2) militarily take over the capital Addis Ababa and create a puppet government for the U.S. by setting up a make-believe coalition government.
The same terrorist spokesman testifies the “U.S. made them do it” by promising help once the TPLF captures power and hoodwinks other opposition elements to join it.
After the TPLF massacred, raped and pillaged in Amhara and Afar regions and made cannon fodder of hundreds of thousands of its fighters (mostly child soldiers), the blowhard TPLF leader wrote an S.O.S. letter to Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General United Nations for delivery to the UN Security Council.
The terrorist leader launches his letter by calling for “peace on behalf of the people of Tigray and the National Regional Government.”
The call for peace is immediately followed by cataloguing alleged “unspeakable horrors” inflicted by the “Ethio-Eritrean war waged against Tigray.”
The terrorist leader mentions nothing of the unspeakable horrors committed by his TPLF including
massacres in Mai Cadra on November 9, 2020, killing at least 1,657 innocent people.
massacre in Galikoma in Afar region in August 2021, killing several hundred.
massacres and gang rapes in Nefas Mewcha in Amhara region in November 2021.
rejection of the Ethiopian Government’s declaration of unilateral ceasefire in June 2021.
invasion of Amhara and Afar regions taking advantage of the unilateral ceasefire.
massive destruction of infrastructure in Amhara and Afar regions.
demolition of churches, mosques, schools and hospitals.
looting of USAID grain storage warehouses and hijacking of aid transportation.
not mentioning the various human rights by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the UNHCR and Ethiopian Human Rights Commission reports documenting heinous TPLF acts of terrorism.
Ethiopian government’s unilateral declaration of ceasefire as a steppingstone to peace. The TPLF spokesperson called the unilateral ceasefire a “sick joke”.
In his letter, the terrorist leader moans and groans about “Tigrayans in Addis Ababa and all over the country taken to concentration camps and living under a reign of fear. Today, Tigrayans also face the daily terrors of indiscriminate drone strikes from the skies.”
The terrorist leader informs Guterres he has effectively declared a unilateral ceasefire and withdrawal. “I have ordered those units of the Tigray Army that are outside the borders of Tigray to withdraw to the borders of Tigray with immediate effect. Our forces are intact and undefeated on the ground.”
The terrorist leader sheds crocodile tears for the
1) suffering and people killed and for the “families who go to bed hungry, for the sick who cannot obtain medicine, and for the students whose hopes of an education and a bright future are dashed and
2) for the “internationalization of the conflict bringing regional and global players into the vortex.”
He declares, “We have pursued no agenda other than our own. We have no political debts to anyone.”
In his letter, the terrorist leader makes the following demands on the U.N. Security Council:
1) Free Tigray from genocidal assault by Ethiopian and Eritrean forces. To accomplish that, the “international community to establish a no-fly zone for hostile flights of aircraft and drones over Tigray except for humanitarian and civil purposes and impose arms embargoes on Ethiopia and Eritrea.”
2) End “illegal occupation and annexation of parts of Tigray” and return “lands in the hands of the occupier in Western Tigray and parts of northern Tigray close to Eritrea where there is ongoing ethnic cleansing in Western Tigray.”
3) Establish a mechanism to “facilitate and monitor withdrawal of Ethiopian and Eritrean forces to lines before Nov. 4 and guarantee restoration of Tigrayan administration and the rights of IDPs and refugees to return to their place of origin and access to and restitution of their homes, land, business, properties and other entitlement.”
3) Create an airbridge and/or humanitarian corridor to Tigray under a de-militarized route designated for safe passage of humanitarian supplies.
4) Release of all political prisoners, lift censorship and remove foreign intelligence and security operatives from Ethiopian soil.
5) Implement UN Rights Council resolution by authorizing the International Commission of Human Rights Experts to investigate human rights abuses in Tigray.
6) Declare the is no military solution to the conflict in Ethiopia.
How interesting to see the blowhards of TPLF eating humble pie and crying out for peace after they get hammered by combined Ethiopian federal and regional forces!
Knowing your enemy… Clear and hold
In the “Art of War”, Sun Tzu advised:
In trying to seize power by force on November 3, 2020, the TPLF chose a blitzkrieg (“Mebreqawi”) attack using their concentrated force to destroy the Ethiopian Northern Command stationed in Tigray region and moving rapidly to capture major cities in Northern Ethiopia and in two weeks seize the capital Addis Ababa.
After they failed in their blitzkrieg, the TPLF leaders foolishly believed they could destroy Ethiopian forces in Tigray and elsewhere by executing planned pivotal battles of annihilation. In fact, the word “annihilation” (medemses) dripped from their lips in every interview.
The TPLF did not know itself nor the Ethiopian National Defense Forces.
The TPLF was defeated in every battle by the combined Ethiopian national defense and special forces, militia and Fano fighters and cleared out of Amhara and Afar regions.
It will also be defeated in the future.
But the TPLF and its Western sugar daddies have mounted a disinformation campaign claiming the TPLF was not defeated but made a strategic retreat.
Calling defeat victory does not change defeat into victory.
Of course, they are entitled to thetr own self-deception and self-delusion.
Interestingly, neither the TPLF nor its Western supporters who urged their citizens to evacuate Addis Ababa immediately because of an expected TPLF onslaught could explain the TPLF’s route to Mekele within a couple of weeks after the TPLF marched for six months to capture the capital.
It is silly infowarfare to not acknowledge Ethiopia’s decisive victory over TPLF terrorism. But who really cares what the West and the TPLF say about the undeniable truth on the ground?
Having sanitized Amhara and Afar regions of TPLF terrorists, the Ethiopian government announced a temporary halt in the advancement of its forces into Tigray region.
To that end, Ethiopian forces will follow a “clear and hold” strategy by securing key locations that allow for maximum strategic offensive and tactical defense.
The Ethiopian government gave various reasons for this decision including the fact that the TPLF was making preparations for a Western-supported global disinformation and demonization campaign using the corpses of TPLF fighters as victims of Ethiopian government genocide.
For now and until the Ethiopian government decides to exercise its sovereign right to maintain law and order in any part of its territory, the situation on the ground could signal attrition warfare by wearing down the enemy’s will and continuously depleting his personnel, material and resources with which he can wage war.
The Ethiopian government knows its enemy and shall win a hundred battles against the TPLF.
The TPLF declared their war is a “Tigrean people’s war” and that every Tigrean is part of their terrorist army. They forced hundreds of thousands of child soldiers into their terrorist army and made them cannon fodder. A monumentally criminal act!
The TPLF will lose a hundred battles because it does not know itself and certainly not the will of the Ethiopian people to fight as one to the bitter end.
The TPLF leadership is in a complete state of denial that it is fighting the people of Ethiopia, not the government of Ethiopia.
The TPLF leaders think they can pull the same tricks from 1991 when the U.S. facilitated their cakewalk to power.
Regardless, the TPLF leadership of one-half dozen individuals is now facing 115 million Ethiopians ready to fight and win.
Sound military advice: “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.”
How will the TPLF end? In a firestorm or flood?
I have always mused about how the TPLF will face the final curtain.
In my March 7, 2011, commentary, I prophesied that in the end the TPLF will “follow the tragic wisdom of the old aphorism, “Apre moi, le deluge” (After me, the flood).
In my June 17, 2018 commentary, I spelled out what the TPLF will do just before the final nail is hammered on its coffin:
In my November 10, 2020 commentary, seven days after the TPLF attacked the Ethiopian Northern Command in Tigray and unleashed the crises we have seen over the past year, I prophesied the dark end of the TPLF:
Today, in its letter to the UNSC, the TPLF having shed the blood of so many innocents in Amhara ad Afar regions is complaining about the firestorm unleashed by the Ethiopian National Defense Force, Amhara and Afar special forces and militia and Fano fighters and drones raining fire from the skies.
The attempt to save the TPLF by soon-to-be members of the Biden administration began in earnest ten days after the attack on the Northern Command on November 14, 2020.
I called out Susan Rice at the time.
On November 14, 2020, Susan Rice in total panic tweeted an S.O.S. on behalf of the TPLF pleading with the Trump administration: “We need principled leadership on this @StateDept. @AsstSecStateAF Please and fast.”
“Fast” as in “the TPLF is getting hammered by the Ethiopian National Defense Force and therefore SOS (Save Our Souls)”.
Assistant Secretary for African Affairs Tibor Nagy had no sympathy for Rice’s TPLF and responded: “The TPLF seeks to internationalize the conflict. The TPLF leadership has admitted responsibility for the November 13 missile launches at airports in Bahir Dar and Gondar, in the Amhara region, and the November 14 attack in Eritrea.”
Four days after Susan Rice’s tweet, on November 18, 2020, Blinken tweeted his own S.O.S. for the TPLF: “Deeply concerned about the humanitarian crisis in Ethiopia, reports of targeted ethnic violence, and the risk to regional peace and security. The TPLF and Ethiopian authorities should take urgent steps to end the conflict, enable humanitarian access, and protect civilians.”
On November 22, 2020, seventeen days after the TPLF attack, I wrote a poem consoling TPLF mother hen and the Princess of Darkness Susan Rice:
Oh! Susanna, now don’t you cry for me
I come from Alabama with my banjo on my knee
I’m going to Louisiana, my true love for to see.
Oh! Susan-a Rice,
Don’t you cry for the TPLF
Their end is near, my dear
Hear, hear!
Drones overhead striking fear

The TPLF did it its way—Self-destruction by self-deception and self-delusion
In my December 27, 2015, commentary, “The “End of the Story” for the T-TPLF in Ethiopia?”, I reflected on the final story to be written on the TPLF.
I was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. “Remember that all through history, there have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they seem invincible. But in the end, they always fall. Always.”
The TPLF fell. Hard. From being the “government” of Ethiopia to a bunch of terrorist fugitives hiding behind desert rocks in Tigray.
I read T.S. Eliot’s poem, “The Hollow Men”, as I thought about the end of the TPLF.
Eliot’s poem is about the inhabitants of a desolate underworld populated by empty and defeated people facing the horrors of war of their own making.
Just like the TPLF.
Eliot said the world of “hollow men” and “stuffed men” ends “not with a bang but a whimper”.
I thought Robert Frost’s verse, “Fire and Ice”, is a more apt description of the end of the TPLF.
In the words of Frost:
So, the TPLF has met its end in flood and fire.
The maxim they followed is now following them: “Apre moi, le deluge” (After me, the flood).
The TPLF is finally swept by the firestorm firepower of ENDF, Amhara and Afar special forces and militia and Fano.
But I will give the devil his due.
In the end, the TPLF brought its own end in its own way, self-destruction by self-deception and self-delusion.
Paraphrasing and adapting Frank Sinatra’s famous song , “I did it my way” for the TPLF:
